Holiday Cottages nestling in the hills of Ceredigion in West Wales, a short drive from the dramatic Cardigan Bay coastline, here you will find Parc-yr-Hebog, offering luxury boutique style self-catering holiday accommodation in a converted stone barn (sleeps 4) and a holiday cottage (sleeps 2).
The Holiday Cottage is listed by The Sunday Times as one of the UK's 100 coolest holiday cottages. The Holiday Cottage near Aberaeron, West Wales is the perfect place to get away from it all – for a romantic long weekend or an activity filled family holiday.
Cardigan Bay, Wales boasts long sandy beaches, a new coastal path and a rich marine life. Within a few miles of the Holiday Cottages are the unspoilt fishing villages of Llangrannog and Tresaith and the coastal towns of Aberaeron and New Quay – a little further afield is the cultural capital of Wales, Aberystwyth. If you want true escapism, head inland to the hills and Cambrian mountains of West Wales, or into the western Brecon Beacons – you could walk for hours without seeing anything other than undiluted, natural beauty and a red kite or two circling overhead.
Ceredigion is also one of the counties in Wales where Welsh remains the natural tongue of most residents, so there's plenty of opportunity to see and hear Europe's oldest language.
Both holiday cottages at Parc-yr-Hebog have been lovingly restored by Welsh-speaking owners Bryan and Wenda Thomas who live in the adjacent farmhouse, Blaenparc. Its location – a working small-holding, with its very own prize flock of sheep – offers an insight into rural life in west Wales, so feel free to muck-in as much or as little as you like!
The seasons truly come to life in this part of the world – in the spring, watch nature come alive again after the slumber of the winter. On long summer days enjoy the cooling breeze on the coast and watch truly spectacular sunsets over the sea in Aberaeron. During the autumn, look out over the golden wooded valley below. And in deepest winter, Parc-yr-Hebog cottages offer the perfect place to cwtch* up.
